BADGER ISLAND, KITTERY, MAINE – Mrs. Karen Emelie Pasanen Schneider died after an extended battle with breast cancer November 22, 2005 at home with her family. She was 58.

Born in Fitchburg, Mass., on July 29, 1947, Karen moved to Kittery with her husband November 2004. Mrs. Schneider was a resident of Kaysville, UT May 2003 to November 2004. Mrs. Schneider moved to Gorham, NH in 1991 where she meet and married Andrew E Schneider. Karen was a Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) and the Director of Medical Records at Androscoggin Valley Hospital, Berlin, NH, Director of Medical Records at Monadnock Community Hospital, Peterbourgh, NH and Assistant Director of Medical Records at Dartmouth Medical Center, Hanover, NH. Mrs. Schneider was co-founder of the non-profit charity Worldwide Medical Support.

Mrs. Schneider is survived by her husband, Andrew E. Schneider, Badgers Island, Kittery, ME; son's David Craig Guenette, Portsmouth, NH; Matthew Christopher Guenette, Madison, WI; Martin Andrew Button Guenette. Providence, RI; her stepdaughter Sarah Rebecca Schneider Gray, Fairfax, VA; and stepson Matthew Evan Schneider, PFC, 141 Signal NBN, Wiesbaden, GR; brother John Pasanen, Burlington, CT and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Schneider's parents are deceased her father was Weikko Pasanen and mother Marguerite St. Pierre.

Funeral service 11:00, November 26, 2005, St. Camilla's Church Fitchburg, MA. Internment to follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery Fitchburg, MA.
